It came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; and she named him Samuel, saying, ``Because I have asked him of the LORD."
20and it came to pass, when the time was come about, that Hannah conceived, and bare a son; and she called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of Jehovah.
20 And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said, “I have asked for him from the LORD.”1

20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord.
20 ⌊In due time⌋, Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She called his name Samuel, for she said, “I requested him from Yahweh.”
20and it comes to pass, at the revolution of the days, that Hannah conceives, and bears a son, and calls his name Samuel, for, “I have asked for him from YHWH.”
In the course of time she gave birth to a son. And she named him Samuel, thinking, “I asked the Lord for him.”
20and in due time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel,*1:20 Samuel sounds like the Hebrew term for “asked of God” or “heard by God.” for she said, “I asked the Lord for him.”
