18So then as through one trespass the judgment came unto all men to condemnation; even so through one act of righteousness the free gift came unto all men to justification of life.
18 Therefore, as one trespass1 led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness2 leads to justification and life for all men.
[1] 5:18 Or the trespass of one [2] 5:18 Or the act of righteousness of one
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
18 Consequently therefore, as through one trespass came condemnation to all people, so also through one righteous deed came justification of life to all people.
18So, then, as through one offense to all men [it is] to condemnation, so also through one declaration of “Righteous” [it is] to all men to justification of life;
So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.
18Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.
