5For after this manner aforetime the holy women also, who hoped in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:
5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,

5 For in the same way formerly the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves by* being subject to their own husbands,
5for thus once also the holy women who hoped on God were adorning themselves, being subject to their own husbands,
For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands;
5This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands.
