1Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
1:1 Blessed is the man1 who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
[1] 1:1 The singular Hebrew word for man (ish) is used here to portray a representative example of a godly person; see Preface
The Ways of the Righteous and the Wicked
1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the advice of the wicked;
nor does he stand in the way of sinners;
nor does he sit in the assembly of mockers.
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor standeth in the way of sinners,
Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
1O the blessedness of that one, || Who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked, || And has not stood in the way of sinners, || And has not sat in the seat of scorners;
or stand in the pathway with sinners,
or sit in the assembly of scoffers.
1 Blessed is the man
That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
